# Enable automation in PDF files

Leapwork allows the PDF files to be read using the Desktop UI blocks. To be able to perform read operations, "Assistive technology support" must be enabled inside PDF reader settings.

**Enable Automation in PDF Files**

Follow below steps to enable this feature.

1. Open any PDF file.

2. From the**Edit** options menu, choose **Preferences**.

3. In preferences, open **Accessibility.**

4. Check **Enable assistive technology support**.
