Get Clipboard

The Get clipboard building block retrieves the current clipboard value. This can be used to work with text that was previously selected and copied from the screen, and then pass that value to other building blocks.

See the Get clipboard content lesson for an example of how to use the Get clipboard block.

Fully expanded, the Get clipboard block shows the following properties:

Note: The screenshot on this page uses the Elegance Design, introduced in 2025.3. If you are using an earlier version, your layout may look different.

  1. Drag Get clipboard onto the canvas.

  2. Connect Text to the next block that should use the clipboard value.

  3. Run the flow when it’s ready.

Building block parameters

Parameters
  • Block header: Shows the current title of the block. You can rename it by double-clicking the header text and typing a new title. This block has no green input or output connectors in the header because it is not explicitly executed. Instead, it retrieves the clipboard value and delivers it to other blocks.

  • Text: Outputs the current text value of the clipboard.
