Bulk actions in Studio

Bulk actions in Studio help you manage multiple items at once.

In Leapwork Studio 2026.1, bulk actions are extended so you can not only delete, but also copy and move several items together.

Use bulk actions when you want to:

  • Copy several flows or folders to another project or folder.

  • Move multiple items to a new location.

  • Delete groups of items you no longer need.

Bulk Copy and Move are available in Leapwork Studio 2026.1 and later.

Where can you use bulk actions

You can use bulk actions in lists where Studio shows multiple items in a hierarchy, for example:

  • The Flows tree.

  • Project folders (flows, sub-flows, assets).

  • Other Studio trees where multi-selection is available.

If bulk actions are available, you see:

  • Checkboxes next to items in the list or tree.

  • A Bulk actions toolbar or menu when you select more than one item.

The exact locations depend on your Studio version and configuration.

Select multiple items

To run a bulk action, first select the items you want to change.

  1. Open the view that contains the items (for example, the Flows tree).

  2. Do one of the following:

    • Select the checkbox next to each item you want to include.

    • Use Shift+click or Ctrl+click (or Cmd+click on macOS) if supported.

  3. Confirm that all selected items are highlighted.

When you select more than one item, the Bulk actions options become available.

If you see items in different projects or folders, check that the bulk action you plan to use supports cross-project operations.

Copy multiple items

Use bulk copy when you want to keep the original items and create copies in a new location.

  1. Select the items you want to copy.

  2. Open the Bulk actions menu or toolbar.

  3. Select Copy.

  4. In the copy dialog:

    1. Choose the destination project.

    2. Choose the destination folder.

    3. (Optional) Adjust naming rules, if the dialog offers options for handling duplicate names.

  5. Select Copy to confirm.

Studio creates copies of the selected items in the destination.

What gets copied

When you copy items:

  • The flow definitions are copied.

  • Sub-flow references remain references to the same sub-flows, unless you also copy those sub-flows.

  • Schedules and Run Lists that refer to the original flows are not changed automatically.

  • Audit log and history are not duplicated; new copies start with their own history.

If a selected item cannot be copied, Studio shows an error or warning for that item and continues with the others, if possible.

Move multiple items

Use bulk move when you want to relocate items without keeping them in the original location.

  1. Select the items you want to move.

  2. Open the Bulk actions menu or toolbar.

  3. Select Move.

  4. In the move dialog:

    1. Choose the destination project (if allowed).

    2. Choose the destination folder.

  5. Select Move to confirm.

Studio moves the selected items to the new location.

What happens when you move items

When you move items:

  • The IDs of the items stay the same.

  • Existing Run Lists and Schedules that reference the items continue to work, because they refer to the same flows.

  • Permissions may change if the destination project or folder uses different access rules.

If a move is blocked (for example, by insufficient permissions), Studio keeps the affected items in their original location and shows an error.

Delete multiple items

Bulk delete existed before 2026.1. The behavior is unchanged, but it now appears alongside bulk copy and move.

To delete multiple items:

  1. Select the items you want to delete.

  2. Open the Bulk actions menu or toolbar.

  3. Select Delete.

  4. Confirm the deletion when prompted.

Deleted items cannot be restored from Studio. Make sure you no longer need the selected items before you confirm.

Permissions and limitations

Bulk actions respect your permissions and project structure.

  • You can only copy, move, or delete items you are allowed to modify.

  • Some items may be protected by governance rules (for example, signed or locked flows).

  • Cross-project move or copy may be limited by project settings.

If a bulk action fails for one or more items:

  • Studio shows which items were affected.

  • Successfully processed items keep their new state.

If you work in a regulated environment, review your internal guidance before using bulk delete at scale.
